Lily Pads, some famous spot hucking towards the end, and how did he make that Spanish grind look like he was doing it on a skatepark ledge?

Tenant’s got an opening party for their new Greenpoint location [R.I.P. DeKalb] this Saturday, which includes an obstacle meant to replicate the West Park wall at the McCarren Park.

Find The Texture — An Interview With Eze Martinez & Emilio Dufour

Skateboarding, socially, is like weed. If you come across anyone in the world who …uses it, that should be intersection-enough to amenably hang out, at least for an hour or two. I’d wager a buck that, as the two [idiotic] activities have become more accepted into the mainstream, the chances of happening onto a deeper connection than that, i.e. beyond rolling around/rolling up, have slimmed.

Meeting and getting to know Eze Martinez and Emilio Dufour has been refreshing. It’s satisfying to know that this thing still has the power to forge real friendships between disparate strangers. While yes, our initial get-to-know-you banter involved such topics as ABDs and the psychosis of rolling up switch to The Sombrero, I think we’ve found other mutual interests to latch onto, and have found that we three share similar worldviews, whatever the hell that even means at this point.

It was exciting to see them do some of the stuff from “Never Enuff III” in person, and all the more thrilling to see what I hadn’t in the final product. Skating in New York is awesome, but let’s face it: it has never been harder to do something memorable on a skateboard in this town, let alone on a trip, in a couple of months, in one summer. I think these guys and E.J. made something lasting; a thing worth remark. Now I’m glad that a few more people get a chance to get to know my sick ass Rio de la Plata homies.

The NYCxDesign Festival is hosting is hosting a public presentation and discussion about the upcoming remodeling of Brooklyn Borough Hall. It looks like it’s mainly concerning the parking lot-adjacent zone by the Shake Shack, not the main plaza we all skate, which was renovated in 2017. It is on Thursday, May 15 @ 6 P.M. at 209 Joralemon Street. More info here.

Tech lord Jeremy Murray has a new, mostly New York part out on Free. Fakie shuv fakie manny hardflip out on C-Benches has to be on the shortlist for most insane things done at that spot.

#QSTOP10 — May 2, 2025

Re: the #1… can echo the guy with the #2 clip’s sentiments about how the cover being the ender is sometimes anticlimactic, but just because it’s obvious, doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Was impossible to not to let the cover x ender slide into #1, despite us being big fans of Mr. Foy’s noseslide abilities. And honestly, Sir Foy puts out so much fucking footage that it was kinda easy to forget to expect the cover trick in this part.

Otherwise, Brian Reid risking it all trying that trick on a ledge that notorious for over-waxage, a brolic kickflip, some bigspins, and a no-push masterpiece.

Munich Report — SHRN Skateshop’s ‘HYPERBOLIC’ Video

Beyond their oh-so-2000’s shop name [abbreviation for “Soo Hot Right Now”] and them being one of the first stores in Germany to carry QS gear, we’ve always felt like kindred spirits with Munich’s finest shop. We’re both descendants of what scholars call “The Blog Era,” during which we synthesized the conversations of our wider skater social circle — centered around skateboarding but also touched on life, sports, partying etc. — and created an online publication out of it. In the time since, SHRN parlayed their weblog into a physical store; we became the thriving newsroom that you see before you today.
